ariasurf is built on open data. This page lists every source behind the beaches, the forecasts and the imagery, along with the licence each one carries.
Beach locations, names and coastline geometry come from OpenStreetMap, extracted with the Overpass API.

The town, region and country shown under each beach come from the same source, resolved once with Nominatim and stored, so the site does not query it on every search.
OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. See openstreetmap.org/copyright.
Wave, swell, tide, wind and weather data come from Open-Meteo, which aggregates national weather models including ECMWF, GFS, DWD ICON and Météo-France.

Open-Meteo data is provided under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
Beach thumbnails are satellite crops generated from each beach's coordinates, so the picture comes from the location itself rather than a photo chosen per beach. Imagery is served by Esri World Imagery.
Powered by Esri. Source: Esri, Vantor, Earthstar Geographics, and the GIS User Community.
Live cameras are streamed directly from the organizations that operate and publish them: harbour authorities, weather stations, town councils, and beach and ski resorts. ariasurf does not host, record or relay any camera feed. Each camera on the site links back to its source.
If you operate a camera listed here and want it removed, get in touch and it will be taken down.
If a source is credited incorrectly or missing, tell us on the contact page and it will be fixed.
